CAPCOM faces a wave of unverified rumors regarding its future game development roadmap. Leaks suggest the publisher is preparing a slate of remakes and new titles spanning several years. These claims include a remake of the original Devil May Cry, a remake of Resident Evil Zero, a remake of Resident Evil 1, and a sequel titled Resident Evil 10.
Anonymous leak outlines remake schedule and new engine usage
According to the leak, Resident Evil 10, codenamed Project Redlife, will star Claire Redfield. The game will utilize the REX Engine, a new internal tool distinct from the existing RE Engine. Resident Evil Zero, codenamed Project Chambers, will also adopt the REX Engine. The roadmap places the Code Veronica Remake in the first quarter of 2027, followed by the Zero Remake in 2028 and the RE1 Remake in 2029. Resident Evil 10 is rumored to launch around 2030.
An anonymous insider also detailed plans for the Resident Evil Requiem DLC. Ada Wong will appear in the expansion, which will feature multiple story DLCs. Dusk Golem, a prominent leaker, confirmed Ada Wong's appearance but explicitly denied involvement in the Devil May Cry 1 and Resident Evil 10 rumors. He stated that people often combine unrelated rumors and falsely attribute them to him.
The leak also notes that Hideaki Itsuno left CAPCOM in 2024. He is now working on a new action game at Tencent's LightSpeed studio. Devil May Cry 5 remains the best-selling title in its series with approximately 11 million units sold.
CAPCOM has not officially confirmed any of these development statuses or release windows. The information originates from an anonymous source that has not been verified. Dusk Golem's denial of the Devil May Cry and Resident Evil 10 protagonist claims casts doubt on the accuracy of the broader roadmap.
