TOPFEEL DeskOne W2 packs 12th-14th Gen Intel CPUs and 650W PSU into 7.3L chassis

TOPFEEL launches the DeskOne W2, a 7.3L mini workstation supporting Intel 12th- 14th Gen CPUs, 650W TFX Gold PSU, and extensive storage options.

TOPFEEL DeskOne W2 packs 12th-14th Gen Intel CPUs and 650W PSU into 7.3L chassis

TOPFEEL's DeskOne W2 upends the mini-workstation game, with desktop expandability in a 7.3L volume. The importance of the form factor is that it enables the potential for high performance builds in constrained spaces. No compromise on storage or GPUs. We see significant potential here for professionals needing high-throughput, but limited rack space.

Mini workstation enables desktop CPU and GPU expansion in constrained spaces

The DeskOne W2 is built for 12-14 Gen desktop CPUs (FCLGA1700 socket) by TOPFEEL. With 2x DDR4 3200 SO-DIMM (cheaper than DDR5, but still sufficient performance for most workstation use cases), the DeskOne W2 is aimed at users that prefer raw CPU and storage potential over up-to-date memory standards.

Specifications

  • Form Factor: 7.3L Mini Workstation
  • Dimensions: 245x249x120 mm
  • CPU Support: Intel 12th-14th Gen Desktop Processors
  • Power Supply: 650W TFX Gold
  • Storage: 3x M.2 PCIe Gen4 x4, 1x M.2 Gen4 x2, 2x 2.5" SATA

For a chassis that's 245x249x120 mm, there's 1x PCIe Gen4 x16 slot (GPU/expansion). There's also a huge amount of storage potential: 3x M.2 PCIe Gen4 x4, 1x M.2 Gen4 x2, 2x 2.5" SATA. Impressive. To top it off, there's a 650W TFX Gold PSU, plenty of power for the performance you can pack into that small volume.

The cooling for the dense build is a 6 heatpipe air cooler (12025 fan for CPU) plus 2x 9015 fans. You've also got a 2x 2.5GbE RJ-45 and reserved M.2 slot for wireless networking. All of this enables the potential for sustained throughput, and connectivity for modern office or lab environments.

While following the developments of Linux 7.3 Patch Fixes PCIe Gen5, we've been watching the release. There's significant potential for continued storage advancements. The DeskOne W2 can take advantage of Gen4 NVMe SSDs, which we see as appropriate for most professional use cases with high speed storage. It's a nice compromise between performance and the cost premium of Gen5.
