Valve announced the return of the Steam Controller on May 4. The company released the device globally on that same date. Valve has officially added the Steam Controller to the store starting May 4.

The new controller features TMR (Tunnel Magnetoresistance) technology in its thumbsticks. This upgrade aims to provide enhanced grip and responsiveness alongside long-term durability. The device includes a high precision trackpad that supports fine customization for mouse-like functionality. It also integrates a gyroscope and accelerometer for motion tracking.

Valve added a Grip Sense capacitive touch sensor to the hardware. This sensor allows users to quickly activate or deactivate the gyro function. The controller includes four additional grip buttons for extra input options. A wireless transmitter and charging station accompanies the device for convenient connectivity and power management.
