SanDisk launched its Optimus series SSDs on May 18, 2025. The lineup includes four models: the GX PRO 8100, GX PRO 850X, GX 7100, and 5100. Capacities range from 500GB to 8TB.
Four models cover a wide performance range.
The GX PRO 8100 offers sequential read speeds up to 14900 MB/s. The GX PRO 850X reaches 7300 MB/s. The GX 7100 delivers 7250 MB/s, and the 5100 achieves 7100 MB/s.

Pricing starts at 999 CNY (about $146) for the 500GB model. The 1TB version of the 5100 is 1799 CNY (about $264). The 2TB 5100 costs 3399 CNY (about $498), and the 4TB is 4699 CNY (about $688). For the GX 7100, 500GB is 1129 CNY (about $165), 1TB is 2099 CNY (about $307), 2TB is 4299 CNY (about $630), and 4TB is 5199 CNY (about $762). The GX PRO 850X 1TB is 2399 CNY (about $351), 2TB is 4799 CNY (about $703), and 4TB is 5399 CNY (about $791). The GX PRO 8100 1TB is 2499 CNY (about $366), 2TB is 4999 CNY (about $732), 4TB is 5799 CNY (about $850), and 8TB is 12999 CNY (about $1,904).
The Optimus series covers a wide range of performance tiers, from the high-end GX PRO 8100 to the more affordable 5100. All models use the NVMe interface. The drives are available in China as of the launch date.
