On 26th October 2024, DT Research launched the LT365PA rugged laptop that's targeted at field professionals that need to work in difficult environments. The LT365PA is significant because it offers the latest power in addition to some specific display solutions like high brightness and night vision to people working in low-light or high-glare conditions. Essentially it's intended as a mobile, rugged workstation that's fit for industrial use.

Intel Arrow Lake H processor and optional NVIDIA RTX 5000 Ada GPU power the new rugged workstation

The LT365PA starts with an Intel Arrow Lake H processor as the basis for heavy-duty computing. DT Research offers optional professional graphics including the RTX A2000 or RTX 5000 Ada laptop GPUs. With NVIDIA optional RTX A2000 or RTX 5000 Ada GPU, you can have professional graphics solutions like visualization and simulation.

Specifications

  • Processor: Intel Arrow Lake H
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX A2000 / RTX 5000 Ada
  • Display: 15.6-inch FHD / UHD (up to 1200 nits)
  • Durability: IP65, MIL-STD-810H
  • Battery: 2x hot-swappable

The main interface for the device is the 15.6 inch display which can be either FHD or UHD resolution. It has an option for normal panels that are 1200 nits bright or a special night vision panel for working in the dark. The ruggedized chassis itself is IP65 rated for dust and water resistance and has also undergone military testing under MIL-STD-810H for durability.

Wireless connectivity is with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 to make sure you can get a reliable connection for wireless in RF-crowded conditions. The device runs with two hot-swappable batteries for power management and it means you can keep running without shutting down. The whole thing weighs 3.9kg because of the materials needed to get all the rugged certifications.

  1. Does the Wi-Fi 7 support actually hold up in high interference industrial zones or is it just marketing? I need to know if BT 5.4 handles the RF noise.

    1. Wi-Fi 7 MLO should help mitigate interference by bonding channels. BT 5.4 has better resilience features. It is the best we have for RF crowded areas right now.

  2. I just hope the driver support for the RTX 5000 Ada is stable on Linux. Proton is getting better but CUDA is still a pain.
