Mindfactory, a major German retailer, reported a significant jump in total GPU shipments for August 2026 compared to the previous month.
AMD models capture majority of shipments while flagship NVIDIA prices stall
The data covers the latest generation of hardware from AMD and NVIDIA, specifically the Radeon RX 9000 series and the GeForce RTX 50 series. AMD secured the top spot with its Radeon RX 9070 XT, which sold 870 units. The Radeon RX 9060 XT followed with 600 units sold during the same period.
Together, these two AMD models accounted for 52.3% of all GPU shipments at Mindfactory. This volume increase came as total units shipped rose from 2,170 in July to 2,810 in August, representing a 29.5% month-over-month growth. NVIDIA’s overall market share declined from 43.6% to 39.5% during this timeframe.
Intel saw its market share rise slightly from 2.8% to 4.6% as it gained ground in the mid-range segment. NVIDIA’s flagship GeForce RTX 5090 experienced a sharp 87.5% drop in sales, likely due to its price exceeding $5,000. Other NVIDIA models like the RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5060 Ti, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070 were also tracked in the monthly report.
Mindfactory noted that this sales surge occurred despite recent price increases on both the NVIDIA RTX 50 and AMD Radeon RX 9000 series products. The retailer speculated that buyers may be panic-buying ahead of another looming price hike, though they cautioned that their German store data does not perfectly reflect global trends.
