Buyer on AliExpress says he bought new AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, but got Athlon X4 used. That's a good example of why it's risky to buy expensive computer components from random people on open trading platforms. People who use open trading platforms might fall victim to such schemes. People sell you old-gen chips instead of high-end ones.
Buyer holds payment via Klarna after seller refuses refund
In this particular case buyer bought something from a seller on AliExpress called 'SZCPU'. Buyer's reddit username: u/dannyrodriguez8. In the order buyer received old AMD Athlon X4 CPU, instead of advertised Ryzen 9. Particular SKU of the chip is AD950XAGM44AB, which is a part of much older and less powerful processor family.
So buyer received Athlon X4 instead of Ryzen 9 5950X. That's a huge difference in terms of computing power and age. Seller refused to refund and sent packing video, but it had different items from the ones that are in question.
To show his point, buyer filed official dispute in AliExpress. Also he sent photos as proof.
Buyer put payment on hold with the help of Klarna so that payment won't go to seller. Seller deleted original listing of Ryzen 9 5950X after completion of the order. But when someone deletes a listing it becomes difficult to prove the original deal terms to the buyer during the dispute.
