Parrot Security has released Parrot OS version 7.2, the latest update to its Debian-based ethical hacking distribution. The new version is available worldwide starting May 7, 2026.

Kernel 6.19.13 addresses CVE-2026-31431

Parrot 7.2 ships with kernel 6.19.13, which includes a patch for CVE-2026-31431, also known as Copy Fail. The release updates several bundled tools: netexec to 1.5.1, bloodhound to 9.0.0, sqlmap to 1.10.3, parrot-updater to 2.0.8, legion to 0.7.0, and httpx-toolkit to 1.7.4.

The update continues the migration to a new Go codebase. Parrot-menu now includes new desktop entries. Parrot-core has a built-in check for Flatpak-installed packages. The distribution is synced with the latest Debian upstream updates for security and stability.

Parrot Security has not confirmed any further details about the release.
