Google Chrome 150 Update Patches 3 Critical Use-After-Free Bugs

Google released a security update for Chrome today that patches seven vulnerabilities, including three rated critical. Users on , Mac, and need to install this fix immediately to prevent remote code execution and data exposure. The update addresses flaws that could allow attackers to crash the browser or execute arbitrary code through malicious web content.

Critical flaws in CameraCapture, GPU, and Network modules require immediate installation

This release targets Chrome version 150.0.7871.128 and 150.0.7871.129 for Windows and Mac, with version 150.0.7871.128 for Linux. The patch fixes critical use-after-free bugs in the CameraCapture, GPU, and Network modules. These specific components handle sensitive data streams and hardware acceleration, making their stability essential for secure browsing.

The update also resolves four high-severity issues within the Cast, Ozone, and Aura subsystems. A significant high-severity out-of-bounds read and write vulnerability exists in the V8 JavaScript engine. Most of these flaws were reported internally by Google, while one high-severity issue in V8 came from OpenAI Codex Security.

We looked at the last Google Chrome update earlier while tracking browser security trends. That previous release focused on AI autofill and government ID support, showing Google's continued push for integrated identity features. This current patch prioritizes core security over new features, addressing the most dangerous memory corruption bugs first.

Google confirmed the release of these security fixes on July 10, 2026. The update is available now for all supported platforms. Users should check their browser settings to ensure they are running the latest version to stay protected against these known exploits.
