RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X are used to cool and stabilize the setup. These liquid cooled RTX 4090s allow for better heat dissipation in a limited area. 360GB of vRAM and 245,760 CUDA cores can be fitted into this workstation.

Specifications

  • GPU Count: 15
  • GPU Model: MSI RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X
  • Total VRAM: 360GB
  • Total CUDA Cores: 245760
  • Power Supply: 5x 1600W

5 1600W PSUs are used. This gives the system a theoretical 8kW power output for the immense load. It took around a year to assemble as technical challenges were faced at 8 and 11 GPU.

#1 in the world rankings for OctaneBench 2020.1.5 and V-Ray 6 GPU RTX. 21171.80 for OctaneBench. 172615 vpaths in V-Ray 6. According to Benchmark Database this system is around 59% faster than 8x RTX 5090 for OctaneBench (benchmarks).

We've been keeping an eye on RTX 4090 progress (recent vRAM warranty issues). This is a different kind of setup in that it is more of a pure performance showcase than a consumer product. The exact motherboard used is confidential and therefore not revealed.

  1. Did Marulli Studio run any independent stress tests on the OctaneBench numbers or are we just trusting the proprietary vendor score?

    1. The article cites the Benchmark Database ranking but notes the motherboard is confidential. We need raw logs to verify the 59% lead over eight RTX 5090s.

  2. I would love to see this thing in a home office but the electric bill alone would cost more than my entire rig.

  3. This is pure hardware theater since the drivers are likely Windows only and Linux support for this many GPUs is nonexistent.

  4. The theoretical 8kW output is impressive but the cooling solution for 360GB of VRAM in a single chassis is the real engineering marvel here.
