You can play the Gran Turismo Sport game on your PC with an unofficial port. This is a very interesting release for racing fans because you can enjoy the game on PC. You see, Sony never released any Gran Turismo game on Steam or in an official capacity.

Community port brings shader fixes and frame generation to Windows

This means Gran Turismo games by Polyphony Digital are unavailable for PC players. But finally, today is the day. GT is on PC now.

Well, it is the first time the Gran Turismo series comes to PC. But it is an unofficial port, community-driven game.

The unofficial GT Sport port for PC uses the PS4 version of the game. The game executable is available on GitHub. The game software is developed by Polyphony Digital for Sony consoles.

It's the same software which is ported to the modern PC hardware. The developer of this unofficial port made efforts to stabilize the game experience for people who want to play it on Windows.

First of all, let's see what tech changes are made to this port. And it is to fix some legacy issues, like performance problems. Especially, the big problem is the shader stutter.

In this GT Sport port, there are three choices for shader compiling. They are precompile (splash screen), pause while compile, and compile batching. With the precompile choice, the developer tested the compilation.

It took around 25 seconds to compile 13,600 stored pipelines to make the smoother frame delivery. This port also implements the FSR 3.1 feature for frame generation to keep the frame rate high above 40 FPS+.

With the frame generation, you get a performance boost. However, the visual glitches also happen due to no motion vectors in the game. Developer pointed out that for sure the fast edge/UI are faced ghosting issues when FSR 3.1 is on.

You have to balance the faster frame rate with the visual glitches. The unofficial GT Sport port supports the PS4 base game right now. And there might be the same unofficial GT7 port coming soon.

Now, we confirm that you can play the Gran Turismo Sport on PC. And there are some technical things to make this work. It happens without any official support from Sony and Polyphony Digital.

You can grab the GT Sport game port today. But bear in mind, there are visual glitches when you turn on the frame generation feature. Today's GT Sport port availability shows the demand for Gran Turismo on PC. Also, we can see that there's no official GT on Windows.
