DSM 7.4 introduces DSM Agent, an AI advisor that helps with system management. A future DSM Agent 2.0 will allow natural language workflows, according to Synology. The company positions the platform as one where AI boosts productivity while keeping users in control of their data.
Synology Drive now includes AI Search with GPU support, enabling natural language file searches. A new Storage Efficiency feature for HDD volumes offers post-processing deduplication and compression. These tools aim to improve data management on NAS devices.
Open betas of Synology ChatPlus and Meet are available, with on-premises deployment and AI translation. Bie-i Chu, Executive Vice President of the Synology NAS Group, said the update provides a platform where AI drives greater productivity and smarter management, while keeping users in full control of their data and infrastructure.
DSM 7.4 is available for download now. The update focuses on integrating AI into everyday NAS tasks, from file search to system advice.
