Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH has released Proxmox Virtual Environment 9.2, a major update to its open-source virtualization platform.

Major update to open-source virtualization platform

The new version sets kernel 7.0 as the default operating system core and builds upon Debian 13.5 "Trixie".

It integrates QEMU 11.0 for hardware emulation, LXC 7.0 for container management, and ZFS 2.4 for storage capabilities.

Ceph Tentacle 20.2.1 now serves as the default stable release for distributed storage clusters within the environment.

The update introduces a dynamic load balancer designed to optimize resource distribution across cluster nodes based on real-time usage metrics.

Network administrators can expand software-defined networking configurations with new WireGuard and BGP support options.

Administrators gain the ability to manage custom CPU models directly through the graphical interface or application programming interface.

The release also adds high availability functionality that allows users to manually arm or disarm cluster protection mechanisms.
