Moore Threads has validated its MUSA architecture GPUs in a high-stakes professional environment, proving they can handle the rigorous demands of a national broadcast network. This deployment matters because it demonstrates that domestic Chinese GPU hardware has reached a level of stability and performance suitable for critical 4K television production workflows. The system went live on June 1 and completed its verification period on October 15, offering concrete data on real-world reliability.
Moore Threads MUSA GPUs validate domestic hardware for professional broadcast workflows
The hardware powers the Beijing Broadcasting System's fully localized 4K ultra-high-definition post-production network, marking the first provincial-level satellite TV system of its kind in China. Moore Threads provided the core computing power through its full-function GPUs, which rely on the MUSA architecture for all processing tasks. This setup replaces foreign hardware dependencies with a domestic alternative for high-end video editing and rendering.
Moore Threads MUSA GPU Deployment Specs
- System Availability: 100%
- Total Runtime: 3312 hours
- 4K Decoding Efficiency: 40% improvement
- Rendering Speed: 2.4x increase
- Real-time Editing: 10 layers of 4K UHD
Technical benchmarks from the deployment show significant performance gains in specific areas. The system achieved a 40% improvement in 4K decoding efficiency and a 2.4x speed increase for rendering and compositing tasks. Moore Threads optimized memory allocation, multi-queue submission, and multi-buffering to stabilize traffic fluctuations during high-frame-rate real-time rendering. These technical adjustments allowed the system to maintain 100% availability over 3312 hours of continuous operation.
The broadcast network handled complex video streams with 4K resolution, HDR, 10-bit color depth, and 50P frame rates without any frame drops or video tearing. Editors could work with 10 layers of 4K UHD video simultaneously in real-time. The system also deployed local AI capabilities for smart editing and format conversion using the MUSA SDK. In total, the network completed the production of 2447 programs, including 768 episodes in 4K ultra-high definition.
Kuaijikeji reported that the Beijing Broadcasting System passed acceptance testing by the Radio and Television Planning Institute of the National Radio and Television Administration. This official validation confirms that the system has entered the practical operation phase for daily broadcast production. The deployment stands as a verified example of domestic GPU hardware succeeding in a professional media environment.
