Google Slides now lets users generate entire multi-slide presentations with Gemini, removing the need to build decks from scratch. This shift matters because it replaces manual slide creation with an automated workflow that adapts to your content. Users can start with a single prompt and receive a structured outline to review before the slides appear.
New AI tool builds slides from prompts with planning phase
The feature integrates directly into the Google Slides interface and relies on Gemini to handle the heavy lifting. Google built in a planning step where Gemini asks follow-up questions to clarify your intent. This ensures the final output matches your specific requirements rather than guessing at your needs.
Gemini recommends relevant files, emails, and chats that you might want to include in the deck. You can also attach Drive files like docs or spreadsheets to provide context. Existing branded presentations can serve as style references to maintain corporate consistency. The generated slides are fully editable for text and layout adjustments.
The feature is available for Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, and Google AI Pro or Ultra consumer plans. Google is rolling out the tool globally starting on 29 June 2026. Usage limits for multi-slide generation are temporarily increased until at least 1 August 2026 to accommodate the launch. The feature currently supports English only.
This update positions Google Slides as a more autonomous productivity tool within the Google Workspace ecosystem. It reduces the time spent on formatting and content structuring for standard presentations. Users with access to the specified plans can begin testing the new capabilities as they become available.
