Ubisoft marks 25 years with performance upgrades and a standalone mission

The primary focus is an update for Ghost Recon Wildlands, the 2017 open-world shooter set in Bolivia. Ubisoft is releasing a new standalone mission titled Last Rites, which is available at no cost. The mission places players in a region controlled by a fanatical cult known as Los Penitentes. Ubisoft describes the setting as a place defined by faith, sacrifice, and violent justice.

Beyond the new mission, the Wildlands update improves performance on modern hardware. The patch adds a 4K 60 FPS option for current-generation consoles. It also introduces new customization options for characters and gear. These technical upgrades aim to extend the life of the game on newer systems.

Ubisoft is also launching the Ghost Recon Insider Program to gather player feedback for the next title in the series. This initiative allows the community to shape the development of future entries. Olivier Leonardi, the creative director, credited the community's passion and feedback for the franchise's current state over the last quarter-century.
