Forza Horizon 6 has launched globally for Xbox Series X/S and PC on May 20th, 2024. The open-world racing title marks the first entry in the franchise to feature Japan as its setting. Playground Games released a hotfix for PC users on May 18th to resolve loading errors affecting player profiles.
Japan setting marks franchise first with strong early access revenue
The game entered early access on May 15th through premium editions and generated over $140 million in revenue during that initial period. It currently holds a Metacritic score of 92, which earned the title a Must-Play award from the review aggregation site. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma congratulated the development team on social media for achieving this major franchise milestone.
Digital keys for the Standard Edition are available at a discount through Instant Gaming in Europe. The Standard Edition costs €46.99 EUR (about $54.74), down from its original price of €69.99. Buyers can also purchase the Deluxe Edition for €66.99 EUR (about $78.04) or the Premium Edition for €79.99 EUR (about $93.18).
The title has already tripled the series' peak concurrent player count on Steam compared to previous entries. The game is available through Xbox Game Pass, allowing subscribers to access the standard edition without additional cost. A separate version of the racing game for the PlayStation 5 platform will arrive later in 2026.
