The first 200 megawatts of the planned 5-gigawatt US-UAE AI Campus are coming online soon. The project broke ground during President Trump's visit exactly a year ago. The first batch of advanced AI chips has already been delivered to the UAE, with more on the way.
First batch of advanced chips delivered
The campus will house a total AI compute capacity of 5 gigawatts, powered by next-generation chips. The initial 200-megawatt phase is nearing completion. The US approved the export of thousands of these advanced chips in November.
Amb. Al Otaiba confirmed the chip delivery, stating that the first batch has arrived and additional shipments are forthcoming. The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Washington, DC, noted that construction is ongoing and the first 200 megawatts will be operational very soon.
The specific type of chips has not been officially disclosed, though speculation points to NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs. The UAE has not confirmed the chip model. The timeline for the remaining capacity remains unclear.
