Cubot has launched the GT5 sports smartwatch, a device designed for users seeking long battery life and independent navigation capabilities. The company introduced the wearable to the global market with a focus on essential fitness tracking and outdoor utility features.
Device supports dual-band GNSS for smartphone-independent tracking
The GT5 features a 1.43-inch AMOLED display and carries a 5 ATM water resistance rating. It supports dual-band operation across five satellite navigation systems, allowing for navigation that functions independently of a smartphone. The device includes offline maps and internal storage for music files.

Powering the GT5 is a battery that lasts up to 12 days under typical use conditions. Users can extend this duration to 30 days by enabling the ultra-power-saving mode. The watch houses 256 MB of internal memory and includes an electronic altimeter and barometer to detect air pressure changes for weather warnings.
Sensors on the GT5 include an optical heart rate monitor and a heart rate variability detector. Cubot states that the accuracy of these health metrics requires real-world testing to confirm their effectiveness. The device is priced at 96 USD (about $96.00) for the global market.
