Chrome 155 Patches 37 Security Flaws Including Critical Buffer Overflow, Edge Still Waiting

Google Chrome issues major security update patching 37 vulnerabilities. Chrome 155.0.8059.79 and 155.0.8059.80 are the latest versions with 37 patched vulnerabilities. This is a significant release due to the number of flaws that were present. Many of them were exploitable by attackers to get arbitrary code execution or to cause a crash. It is highly recommended to update the software as soon as possible to avoid falling victim to the known attacks.

Chrome 155 patches 37 security flaws including critical buffer overflow

A critical flaw affecting the ANGLE graphics library has been fixed in this update. The ANGLE library is used for hardware-accelerated graphics rendering. The component had a buffer overflow issue that could have allowed an attack leading to remote code execution (CVE-2026-110152). In addition, six critical use-after-free vulnerabilities affecting PDF, network stack, SVG, and media have also been fixed.

These use-after-free vulnerabilities could have allowed an attack where the memory would be corrupted, enabling the execution of malicious code. These flaws were found in critical components used to parse web content or files. By fixing them, we are preventing attacks that are commonly leveraged by hackers to take over users' devices.

The Microsoft Edge browser uses Chromium as its foundation. There is no stable update available at the moment. Microsoft published its advisory on October 13, acknowledging the Chromium update. Microsoft also confirmed they are currently working on an Edge release to fix the same vulnerabilities.
