ADATA has forecast that the price uptrend for DRAM and NAND memory will not reverse through 2026. The company expects DRAM to lead price increases in the first half of 2026, followed by NAND in the second half. ADATA stated that the probability of a significant NAND price increase in the second half of 2026 is very high.
Supply shortage will continue into 2027 without doubt
The memory maker also said the supply shortage will continue into 2027 without doubt. ADATA's inventory reached NT$40 billion (about 8.668 billion RMB) by the end of April. According to Counterpoint, DRAM annual capacity needs 12% growth to meet demand, but actual growth is only 7.5%.
Samsung has stopped production of DDR3, DDR4, and LPDDR4 DRAM. Micron has shut down its Crucial consumer brand to focus on HBM and SOCAMM2. Analysts predict memory prices may not normalize until at least the end of 2028.
ADATA made the forecast during an investor conference. The company has not confirmed any specific product launches or pricing changes.
