Behaviour Interactive is adding Jason Voorhees to Dead by Daylight as part of the game's 10th anniversary celebrations. The Friday the 13th icon will join the existing roster of killers on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. Players who opt into the public beta test build can access the character earlier, starting May 26, 2026.

Jason brings two major abilities to the killer role. Omnipresent Evil functions as a stealth skill that allows him to disappear from the map entirely and move faster while remaining undetected by survivors. This ability also lets players track survivor locations using footprint clues left on the ground. Improvised Carnage enables Jason to throw scattered items across the map, such as locker fragments, hooks, and broken machine parts, to stagger survivors upon impact.

Dave Richard, Senior Creative Director at Behaviour Interactive, stated that the 10th anniversary chapter required a special partnership. Robbie Barsamian, Executive Vice President at Horror Inc., noted that fans have requested Jason's inclusion since the game launched. Multiple skins for the character will be available for purchase alongside his release.

Behaviour Interactive recently acquired the team behind 7 Days to Die and faced an unknown number of layoffs shortly after the deal closed.
