Square Enix director Naoki Hamaguchi addressed several topics regarding the Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy during a recent Q&A session. The studio confirmed that it will not produce downloadable content for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to bridge the gap until Part 3 arrives. The team prioritizes releasing the third installment with the highest possible quality over any additional expansion packs.

Hamaguchi explained that streamlined progression accessibility features in the new console versions for Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series are not about balancing gameplay. He stated the developers fine-tuned the game until the very end of development to ensure the core balance remains strong. These adjustments instead accommodate diverse modern playstyles across different platforms.

The director also discussed future content priorities beyond the trilogy itself. Square Enix currently sees insufficient demand in the mobile market to justify porting the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy to that platform. A standalone Queen's Blood game does not represent a current development priority for the studio at this time.

Speculation suggests Part 3 of the remake series has a solid chance of releasing in early 2027, though this timeline remains unconfirmed and based on external reports. Hamaguchi emphasized that focusing resources on the third installment allows the team to deliver the best possible experience without delay.
