A new round of Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-order rumors has fizzled out after a Walmart backend listing and a Best Buy affiliate email suggested pre-orders could begin on May 18. However, an insider on GTAForums claims that internal Rockstar emails indicate Best Buy got the date wrong and no pre-orders will launch that day.

The game is still set for a global release on November 19, according to the current schedule. A pre-order code has existed on Rockstar's website since at least 2024, but that does not confirm an imminent opening.
The insider, a GTAForums user, advised keeping expectations in check, noting that things could change at the last minute but that pre-orders are more likely in July or August. Rockstar has not publicly commented on the matter.
The Walmart listing and Best Buy email remain unconfirmed by either retailer or Rockstar, and could be placeholders or errors. The conflicting signals have left the community uncertain about when pre-orders will actually begin.
