Insider Doubts GTA 6 Pre-Order Leak, Trailer 3 May Not Arrive Until July

A Best Buy affiliate email has sparked rumors that Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders could open on May 18. The email appears legitimate, but it may have been sent prematurely, according to an insider. Rockstar Games has not confirmed any pre-order date.

Insider casts doubt on May 18 pre-order

Industry insider Tom Henderson doubts the May 18 pre-order claim. On the Insider Gaming podcast, he said that tangible news about GTA 6, such as a third trailer or pre-orders, is unlikely before July or August. Henderson noted that his prediction is not based on new information, but other prominent leakers have also seen no signs of activity around May 18.

Leaker billbil-kun, when asked about the Best Buy leak, said he had "Nothing interesting for now" to report. This adds to the uncertainty surrounding the rumored pre-order date.

Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar's parent company, is scheduled to hold an earnings call on May 21. That call may provide an update on GTA 6's marketing timeline. Henderson believes that the marketing campaign may not begin until July or later.

Rockstar Games has not confirmed any pre-order date or trailer release window. The May 18 date remains unverified, and the company has not commented on the Best Buy email.
