SanDisk launched the Optimus brand on March 18, 2025, with the GX PRO 8100 as its flagship PCIe 5.0 SSD.
Flagship SSD uses BiCS 8 TLC NAND
The 2TB version achieves sequential read speeds up to 14.9 GB/s and sequential write speeds up to 14 GB/s. Random read and write performance reaches 2.3 million and 2.4 million IOPS, respectively. The drive uses BiCS 8 TLC NAND flash and nCache 4.0 technology. It comes in the M.2 2280 form factor with a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface.

The SSD is available globally starting March 18, 2025. It comes in 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB capacities. Average power consumption is under 7.5W. The drive carries a 5-year warranty, with endurance up to 2400TBW for the 4TB model.
The Optimus GX PRO 8100 targets high-performance storage needs, competing with other PCIe 5.0 SSDs in the market. SanDisk has not confirmed pricing details.
