Alibaba released Qwen3.8-Max, a massive AI model, to global users ahead of its official weight drop next week. This early access allows developers to test the system on complex tasks before the full public rollout. The timing gives users a practical head start on integrating the model into their workflows.

Developers can test the 2.4 trillion parameter model before full release
The Qwen3.8-Max model operates on a Sparse Mixture of Experts architecture with Hybrid Attention. This design allows the system to activate only 95 billion parameters out of its total 2.4 trillion. This sparse activation reduces the computational load required for inference.
The model supports a context window of up to 1 million tokens. This capacity enables the processing of extremely long documents or codebases in a single pass. The architecture is optimized for autonomous coding, complex research, and multi-modal tasks.
Alibaba ranked Qwen3.8-Max fifth in Text Arena and second in Vision Arena. The model trails only select Anthropic Claude products in these benchmarks. Alibaba also launched QwenWork, an AI agent platform that integrates these models for productivity.
