Sony has leaked details regarding the European model of its upcoming Xperia 1 VIII smartphone. The device, identified by the model number XQ-GE54, has appeared in reference to the flagship series earlier this year. This specific variant is confirmed to be the European version of the phone.
The smartphone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 system on a chip. This processor features six Oryon Gen 3 Performance Cores and two Oryon Gen 3 Prime Cores. The CPU cores are clocked at a speed of 4.61 GHz. Graphics processing is handled by the Qualcomm Adreno 840 GPU. Sony continues to limit the device's memory to 12 GB of RAM.

Benchmark data from Geekbench 6 shows the device averaging a single-core score of 2,325. The multi-core benchmark yielded an average score of 9,217. These figures suggest strong performance capabilities for the new chipset. The device is currently available for sale on Amazon in the UK. It is also offered in Germany.

Pre-release engineering samples often differ from final retail units. We would not recommend drawing too many conclusions until retail units arrive. The benchmark scores may not reflect the final performance of the consumer version. Sony has not confirmed the official launch window for this device.
