Sony reports steep PS5 sales decline
For the full fiscal year, PS5 sales fell 8.3 percent, from 18 million to 16.5 million units. Total lifetime sales of the PS5 have reached 93.7 million units. By comparison, the PS4 had sold 97 million units in the same post-launch period.
In March 2026, Sony increased the price of the PS5. The disc version now costs 599 USD (about $599), and the digital edition costs 649 USD (about $649).
The sales decline comes even before the recent price increase. Sony has not confirmed the impact of the price change on future sales.
