Sony has quietly increased the price of its officially Certified Refurbished PlayStation 5 Slim consoles by $100. The price hike applies to both the Digital Edition and the disc-drive versions of the console. This adjustment affects the cost of refurbished units sold through official channels.
The PS5 Slim variant offers a full 1 TB of storage. This represents a significant upgrade from the previous Fat PS5, which shipped with 825 GB of storage. The original model provided only 667 GB of usable space to the user after system software installation.
The refurbished PS5 Slim Digital Edition now costs 499.99 USD (about $500). This is up from the previous price of 399.99 USD (about $400). Refurbished PS5 Slim disc-drive editions now sell for 549.99 USD (about $550). This marks an increase from the prior price of 449.99 USD (about $450).
Sony announced that the entire PlayStation lineup would see price hikes from April 2 onward. Buyers can still pick up a refurbished Fat PS5 for 399 USD (about $399). New PS5 Digital Edition units cost 599.99 USD (about $600). The disc edition of the new console sets buyers back 649.99 USD (about $650).
Certified Refurbished consoles include a full-year warranty. These packages also include a DualSense controller and all necessary cables. Some users reported dust accumulation clogging ventilation holes and causing PSU failure. Others raised alarms about the liquid metal interface leaking when the console was propped up vertically.
