The storage device uses a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface and follows the NVMe 2.0 standard. It comes in the standard M.2 2280 form factor. Sandisk equips the drive with its A101-000172-A1 controller, which operates on a 16nm process without dedicated DRAM.
Spec comparison
| Interface | Form Factor | NAND Flash | Controller |
|---|---|---|---|
| PCIe 4.0 x4 | M.2 2280 | BiCS8 3D TLC CBA NAND (218-layer) | A101-000172-A1 (16nm, DRAMLess) |

The SSD relies on BiCS8 3D TLC CBA NAND flash memory developed jointly by Sandisk and Kioxia. This chip features 218 layers of storage cells. The drive supports capacities of 500GB, 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB. Independent testing shows the 2TB model achieves sequential read speeds of 7237.15 MB/s and write speeds of 6966.28 MB/s.
Sandisk claims the drive delivers up to 7250 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write performance under official specifications. The company also reports a DirectStorage performance boost of 54.7 percent for the 2TB variant. Testing suggests the SLC cache capacity exceeds 400GB for that model, maintaining sustained speeds around 5800 MB/s.

The launch is currently limited to the Chinese market. Sandisk has not confirmed release dates or pricing details for other regions.
