Samsung announced the new Odyssey OLED G8 monitors on May 8. The lineup includes two distinct models designed for high-performance display needs. The 27-inch variant carries the model number S27HG802S. The larger 32-inch version is identified as the S32HG802S. Both units utilize QD-OLED panel technology to deliver vibrant imagery.
Screens cover 99.5% DCI-P3 and hold Pantone validation
The monitors support a native 4K resolution at 240Hz. This high refresh rate is made possible by the inclusion of DisplayPort 2.1 with UHBR20 support. This interface provides a total bandwidth of 80Gbps. The connection eliminates the need for Display Stream Compression to achieve these speeds. Both models offer a 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time and 10-bit color depth.
Color accuracy is a key feature of the G8 series. The screens cover 99.5% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. They also hold Pantone validation for professional color consistency. The 32-inch model achieves VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. The 27-inch model meets the True Black 400 standard. Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.1 ports and a USB-C port with 98W power delivery. Advanced cooling features like pulse heat pipes help manage thermal output.
Samsung has not yet announced specific pricing for the Odyssey OLED G8 monitors. Information regarding specific regional availability is also pending official confirmation. The company stated that these details will be released at a later date. Buyers will need to wait for further announcements to determine cost and launch markets.
