The visual style shifts the original pixel art into a 3D voxel format, giving the maps and characters a blocky, three-dimensional depth. This change makes the games feel like high-definition remakes while keeping the core layout and mechanics intact. The tilt option, which can be enabled by pressing the 3 key during gameplay, adds a dynamic perspective to the movement.
Beyond the visuals, the project adds several quality-of-life features that were not present in the original Game Boy releases. Players can alter the game speed to make battles or grinding faster, use Game Boy Color visuals for a different look, and save or load their progress from anywhere in the game. These features make the experience more accessible for modern players who might find the original limitations restrictive.
Nintendo has no plans to release these specific titles on PC officially, so this project remains an unofficial fan effort.
