Origin Lab has raised $8 million in seed funding. The round was led by Lightspeed Ventures. The startup operates a data licensing platform for gaming companies.
Platform holds over 500,000 hours of game content
Origin Lab acts as a bridge between gaming companies and world model labs. It has over 500,000 hours of content from more than 250 games. The data is licensed, not scraped, and includes video, audio, inputs, telemetry, physics, and annotations.

Co-CEO and co-founder Anne-Margot Rodde said the AI systems being built need to understand how the physical world works and how things move. That data lives in video games. The video game industry was sitting on valuable data but lacked infrastructure to connect AI labs and the industry. Origin Lab built that bridge.
The funding was announced on May 13, 2026. Origin Lab has not confirmed any further details about its plans.
