C4ADS investigation traces restricted chip diversion through Southeast Asian import networks

The investigation focuses on Megaspeed International, a Southeast Asian importer linked to the movement of these GPUs. C4ADS identified the company as a suspect due to its high import volume and opaque ownership structure. The firm processed approximately $4.6 billion in NVIDIA imports between 2022 and 2025.

Investigators traced $1.7 million in restricted chips directly to Chinese institutions and another $13.4 million through 50 shipments via Southeast Asia. The methods include direct purchases by Chinese research bodies and transshipment through opaque paper companies. These routes allow restricted hardware to bypass standard compliance checks.
