Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition: Native support for DLSS 5 (new for RTX 50). A new way for RTX 50 owners to try out next-gen rendering.
Free update brings AI lighting changes to RTX 50 owners
Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition now supports DLSS 5 as of October 22. So, it’s the 2nd game to get DLSS 5 after NBA 2K27. It’s an opportunity to experience the impact of artificial light changes on performance in a resource-hungry game.

- DLSS Support: Native DLSS 5 support added via next-gen update
- Ray Tracing: Not included in this update
- Hardware Requirement: GeForce RTX 50 series GPU
4A Games has released the next-gen update for Metro Exodus on Steam, Epic, and GOG as a free download. The patch brings native support for DLSS 5. However, it lacks ray tracing features. Players with GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards can start using it right away.
DLSS 5 doesn’t only scale the resolution; it changes how light and materials are rendered using AI. That’s why it needs certain hardware and is only available on the RTX 50 series. Early users report that it has a noticeable performance impact when the feature is active.
4A Games’ official patch notes don’t specifically mention DLSS 5. Only DLSS, AMD FSR, and 4A TSR are mentioned. But Kuai Keji has confirmed native support for DLSS 5 through technical analysis of the patch update files.
This comes before the upcoming DLSS 5 support for Hogwarts Legacy on November 5. There’s another game coming with DLSS 5 support in late November.
