Lexar is expanding its THOR RGB DDR5 lineup with a focus on high-speed performance and compatibility with the latest Intel and AMD platforms. This release matters because it offers builders a new option for high-frequency memory that leverages domestic Chinese DRAM chips. Users looking to upgrade their systems can now choose between two pre-tested speed tiers without waiting for manual tuning.

New memory kits use ChangXin DRAM and target Intel Core Ultra 200S
The new THOR RGB DDR5 series ships in 16GB x 2 dual-channel kits. Lexar has certified these modules for Intel XMP 3.0, ensuring they work seamlessly with Intel motherboards. The company specifically optimized the memory for the Intel Core Ultra 200S series processors to lower system latency.
Specifications
- Capacity: 16GB x 2 (32GB Kit)
- Speed: 7200 MT/s, 7600 MT/s
- Latency: CL38
- Technology: Intel XMP 3.0
- DRAM: CXMT (ChangXin)
Buyers can choose between 7200 MT/s and 7600 MT/s speeds, both maintaining a tight CL38 latency. The kits use DRAM particles developed by CXMT (ChangXin Memory Technologies). This marks a shift for the brand, as it is one of the first products to feature these specific memory chips in a consumer kit.
AMD users have additional options, with support for EXPO profiles coming soon. Lexar claims the memory can overclock to 8000 MT/s on compatible AMD setups. Testing on an MSI B850MPOWER motherboard with an AMD CPU demonstrated stable performance at this higher speed.
We looked at MSI BIOS Update Unlocks DDR5-8200 for earlier while tracking Lexar launches. The THOR RGB DDR5 kits are currently available in the two stated speeds, with AMD EXPO support expected to follow shortly.
