Lenovo has announced two new budget-friendly ThinkPad laptops, the L14 Gen 7 and L16 Gen 3. The devices are expected to launch in May 2026.
Powered by Intel Core Ultra 5 or AMD Ryzen AI 5
The laptops will be powered by either Intel Core Ultra 5 (Panther Lake) or AMD Ryzen AI 5 (Gorgon Point) processors. The base configuration includes 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD. Both models feature two SO-DIMM slots for memory upgrades and a user-replaceable keyboard. The battery is limited to 57 Wh, and there is no 5G option. Screen resolutions are lower than those found in the T series.
The starting price for the base configuration is 1440 USD (about $1,440).
The design of the new L series is based on the 2024 L14 Gen 5. Lenovo has not confirmed the exact launch window beyond May 2026.
