The game launches on May 22, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned for a later date. A pre-load glitch on Xbox allowed early play, and unencrypted files leaked online.
TT Games head of development Jonathan Smith said the team was inspired by Arkham Asylum's combat system. He noted that Rocksteady did a generational job bringing that combat to life, and the new game uses it as the basis for Batman's combat style.
Rocksteady contributed 24 developers to the project. The collaboration brings together studios known for the Arkham series and Lego games. Warner Bros. Games Montreal also assisted with development.
