HP is entering the budget laptop market with the OmniBook 5, a device designed to compete directly with Apple's MacBook Neo. The release is notable for offering OLED screens and contemporary processors at a budget-friendly price, addressing a market segment where consumers often had to compromise on display quality or processing speed. The OmniBook 5 starts at $699.99 and ships in October 2026.

The laptop runs on Intel's new Wildcat Lake architecture, offering two processor choices. Buyers can select the Intel Core 5 320 or the more powerful Intel Core 7 350. Since both processors use integrated Intel Graphics, the device does not include a dedicated graphics card for intensive gaming but remains efficient for everyday computing tasks.
