Google is introducing a new design language called Neural Expressive for the Gemini app on Android, iOS, and the web. The company also announced Gemini Spark, a 24/7 personal AI agent that can perform tasks across Workspace apps and third-party tools via MCP. Additionally, Android Halo will display live updates and task progress on the smartphone screen, and a Daily Brief feature will provide a personalized morning digest from connected apps.
Gemini Spark transforms assistant into active partner.
The Gemini app now has over 900 million monthly active users. Google said that Spark represents a shift from an assistant that answers questions to an active partner that does real work on behalf of the user. The Daily Brief is rolling out today in the US for Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers. Gemini Spark will enter beta next week for US-based Google AI Ultra subscribers.

Google has not confirmed a wider rollout timeline for Gemini Spark or Android Halo beyond the initial beta. The company also did not disclose pricing for the new features.
The updates were announced at Google I/O 2026. Google has not shared plans for expanding these features to other regions or subscription tiers.
