Google announced Gemini 3.5 Flash at Google I/O on May 19, 2025. The company claims the new AI model is four times faster than Claude Opus 4.7 and GPT-5.5. It also surpasses the previous Gemini 3.1 Pro in coding, agentic, and tool use capabilities.
New model surpasses Gemini 3.1 Pro in key areas
In a demonstration, the Antigravity 2.0 IDE used Gemini 3.5 Flash with 93 sub-agents to generate 2.6 billion tokens in 12 hours. Google also teased Gemini 3.5 Pro, a higher intelligence model, for a June release.
Gemini 3.5 Flash is rolling out today in the US across Gemini app, Search, Google Antigravity, and the Gemini API. Additionally, Google announced Gemini Spark, a personal AI agent available next week for Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US.
Google has not confirmed pricing for Gemini 3.5 Flash. The company also did not provide details on availability outside the US.
