Global semiconductor sales hit nearly $300 billion in Q1 2026, on track to top $1 trillion for this year

The global semiconductor industry recorded $298.5 billion in revenue during the first quarter of 2026. This figure represents a significant 25 percent increase from the fourth quarter of 2025. The Semiconductor Industry Association released these findings on April 1, 2026, alongside data from World Semiconductor Trade Statistics.

March monthly revenue hits $99.5 billion, up 79.2% from last year

Monthly revenue in March 2026 reached $99.5 billion. This monthly total marks a 79.2 percent year-over-year increase compared to March 2025. It also reflects an 11.5 percent month-over-month growth from February 2026. The industry projects that total annual sales will exceed $1 trillion in 2026.

Semiconductor Industry Association reports Q1 2026 global revenue of $298.5 billion
Global chip sales surged in the first quarter of 2026.

Regional performance varied significantly across major markets in March 2026. Asia Pacific sales surged by 108.5 percent compared to the previous year. The Americas experienced an 83.1 percent year-over-year increase. China reported a 74.8 percent growth, while Europe saw a 46.5 percent rise. Japan recorded the lowest regional growth at 7.4 percent.

John Neuffer, president and CEO of the SIA, stated that strong sales across Asia Pacific, the Americas, and China drove this global growth. He highlighted the broad and robust demand for semiconductors and the technology products they enable. The association noted that Q1 sales significantly exceeded those in Q4 2025.

The SIA acknowledges that actual total revenue is likely higher than the reported $298.5 billion. Privately owned companies and some Chinese firms do not share their financial results publicly. This lack of data makes it difficult to estimate the exact total revenue of semiconductor makers worldwide.
