Enterprise data centers are pushing storage density to new limits with DapuStor's latest showcase. The company introduced a 512TB class solid-state drive in the EDSFF E2 form factor. This capacity leap matters because it reduces the physical space and power required for massive data archives. Buyers managing large-scale storage clusters can now evaluate a single drive that replaces multiple legacy units.
New EDSFF E2 form factor enables massive density for data centers
The R6060 model relies on a self-developed DP800 controller built for PCIe Gen5 QLC NVMe connections. DapuStor designed this drive to support the NVMe 2.0 protocol, which introduces Flexible Data Placement (FDP). FDP allows the system to manage write amplification more efficiently by separating data streams. This architectural choice helps maintain performance stability as the drive fills up with data.

The physical dimensions of the EDSFF E2 drive measure 200x76x9.5 mm. This compact shape accommodates over 64 NAND flash pads to achieve the massive 512TB class capacity. The drive utilizes 3D eQLC NAND flash to balance cost and density. Previous iterations of the R6060 in other form factors maxed out at 245.76TB, making this new version a significant step up in raw storage volume.
DapuStor also displayed a companion model called the J5060 in the U.2 form factor. The J5060 operates on PCIe Gen4 and uses QLC NAND flash. A key feature of this alternative model is dynamic pSLC/QLC partitioning. Users can reconfigure the drive on the fly to create a high-performance pSLC zone or a large QLC capacity zone based on current workload needs.
We looked at Union Memory AE631 earlier while tracking Dapustor launches. Both products highlight the industry shift toward QLC NAND for enterprise applications. The R6060 and J5060 represent DapuStor's current focus on high-density storage solutions. These drives are available for evaluation at the FMS 2026 summit.
