Black Myth Wukong has sold more than 30 million copies across all platforms. The title reached this milestone nearly two years ahead of its closest competitor Elden Ring.
Game Science title beats Elden Ring sales record with strong global PC and PS5 performance
Game Science released the game on PC and PlayStation 5. Steam handled most of the initial distribution while PS5 drove significant console sales.
The developer secured Game of the Year honors at the Steam Awards in 2024. The studio is now working on a new project titled Black Myth Zhong Kui.
Over half of all copies sold came from markets outside China. The game surpassed Elden Ring which took more than three years to reach similar sales figures.
