ASUS Japan recently demonstrated the extreme durability of its ExpertBook business laptops through a viral marketing video. The company subjected the devices to severe physical stress tests to prove their resilience in accidental real-world scenarios. The demonstration gained significant attention, accumulating over 3.56 million views on social media within just one day of release.
Business laptops undergo water pouring and stepping tests to prove MIL-STD-810H resilience
The ExpertBook line is a business-oriented laptop series designed for professional environments where equipment safety is critical. The marketing event took place in Japan and focused specifically on the physical robustness of the hardware. The company aimed to highlight how the devices can withstand common workplace accidents without sustaining damage.
The laptops meet the MIL-STD-810H military durability standard, which certifies their resistance to various environmental stresses. The hinge mechanism allows the screen to open to a 180-degree flat position, providing flexibility for different usage modes. These structural features support the device's ability to handle physical abuse during daily use.
During the live demonstration, technicians performed several aggressive tests to validate the build quality. They slammed the screen shut with hard objects resting on the keyboard, leaving the glass and LCD panel undamaged. The team also poured water directly onto the keyboard and internals, which survived the exposure without issue. In the final test, a person stepped on the entire laptop, including the screen, without causing structural failure. An ASUS staff member noted that these tests were conducted just in case such accidents occur, thanking the audience for their attention.
