The collaboration focuses on the physical design and deployment of AMD Instinct GPUs, EPYC CPUs, and ROCm software. Core Scientific provides the existing portfolio of AI-ready data centers to host this hardware. This combination allows enterprises to scale their AI workloads using AMD's specific technical stack.

AMD will initially gain more than 500 megawatts of US infrastructure next year. This first phase establishes a significant foothold for AMD in the high-performance computing market. Additional capacity is expected to be added as the partnership grows its physical infrastructure.

Mathew Hein, AMD's senior vice president and chief strategy officer, emphasized the need for trusted partners to support the next era of AI. He stated that Core Scientific's portfolio expands access to the infrastructure customers need to deploy AMD AI solutions at scale. The deal also includes market-priced warrants for Core Scientific stock, linking AMD's financial interests to the partner's performance.

This partnership solidifies AMD's position in the enterprise AI market by securing substantial compute capacity. The initial 500-megawatt deployment next year marks the first step in delivering this infrastructure. Customers can now plan for large-scale AI adoption using AMD's hardware and software ecosystem.
