Amagic has launched a new mini PC that packs a punch. It’s the Starship M2A that brings desktop-grade gaming specs into a compact form. This is significant because it’s bringing desktop-class mobile GPU with high-end CPUs into an easily fit-on-your-desk kind of footprint, aiming towards the people looking for gaming performance but in a non-tower form factor. As for the features, it comes with an interesting 1.9-inch DIY secondary screen on the front of the device.
Amagic Starship M2A mini PC launches with Intel Core i9-12900H and RTX 3070 graphics
At its core, the Starship M2A comes with Intel Core i9-12900H CPU alongside NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. The latter’s a mobile GPU that brings 16GB GDDR6 VRAM and 5120 CUDA cores with it. This means you’ve got a very capable graphics card packed into a small form factor. The combination of CPU and GPU means that you can run intensive games and creative workloads that require bigger PCs.
Specifications
- CPU: Intel Core i9-12900H
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop (16GB GDDR6)
- RAM: 16GB DDR4
- Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD

According to Amagic, the custom 4D cooling system offers 45% better cooling than usual solutions. It has 4 fans and 7 heat pipes which help dissipate heat that the high-end components produce. The GPU itself has up to 115W power release which means it’ll be able to stay at the same level of performance under load without thermal throttling.
The Amagic PC itself has 16GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB NVMe SSD for memory and storage respectively. It runs Windows 11 out of the box which means you’ll be able to immediately enjoy a familiar interface. The size of the PC is 315x255x198mm which isn’t that large considering the specs you get with it. Yes, there have been some other mini PCs like the BIOSTAR EdgeComp MS-U320 but this one is more focused on raw gaming power instead of being fanless.
The Amagic Starship M2A is available in China right now. It costs 5199 CNY which is roughly $778 on JD.com. This makes it a budget-friendly PC for people looking for high-end specs in a mini PC form factor. It’s available for shipping right from the announcement in November 2023.

The RTX 3070 Laptop GPU is listed with 16GB VRAM. I thought that chip typically shipped with 8GB. Is this a custom board or a typo in the press release?
It is a custom board. The standard mobile 3070 has 8GB but this unit uses a 16GB GDDR6 variant which allows for that higher memory capacity.
16gb vram in a mini box?? that is wild 🤔
They claim 45% better cooling with 4 fans and 7 heat pipes but squeezing an i9 and a GPU into 315x255x198mm is a thermodynamic nightmare. I will believe the numbers when I see a stress test video.
The price is okay for china but import taxes will kill it for me. 5199 yuan is decent if you live there.
16GB of DDR4 in 2023 is a bit stingy for an i9 system. You really want that RAM upgraded to 32GB or 64GB if you are doing any serious work.
