ELECOM has released the DE-C85-5000 series mobile battery, a portable power bank for smartphones that introduces semi-solid lithium-ion cells to the consumer market. The new design targets users who need reliable charging in extreme temperatures or require longer-lasting hardware.
New semi-solid lithium-ion cells offer four times longer lifespan than standard batteries with replacement indicator LED.
The device comes in two color options: black (DE-C85-5000BK) and white (DE-C85-5000WH). It features a compact form factor with dimensions of 68mm wide, 110mm tall, and 11.4mm deep, weighing approximately 135 grams.
Spec comparison
| Spec | DE-C85-5000BK | DE-C85-5000WH |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity | 5,000mAh | 5,000mAh |
| Battery Type | Semi-solid lithium-ion battery | Semi-solid lithium-ion battery |
| Cycle Life | Approx. 2,000 cycles | Approx. 2,000 cycles |
| Discharge Temperature Range | -15°C to 45°C | -15°C to 45°C |
| Max Output | 22.5W | 22.5W |
The battery holds a 5,000mAh capacity and delivers up to 22.5W of maximum output power. It includes one USB Type-C port and one USB-A port for charging connected devices simultaneously.
ELECOM claims the semi-solid lithium-ion cells provide an approximate cycle life of 2,000 charges, which is roughly four times longer than standard lithium-ion batteries in similar products. The unit also supports discharge operation in temperatures ranging from -15°C to 45°C.
The power bank includes a Health Monitor feature that uses LED indicators to show the battery's condition based on charge cycles. It provides five layers of protection, including thermal monitoring, and displays the remaining battery level at 1% increments via an LED panel.
Pricing details are currently open for discussion by ELECOM, but the device is scheduled to start sales in Japan beginning in late May 2026.
