HIKSEMI announced its MAGE50X five-bay network attached storage system on May 22. The device targets users who require integrated artificial intelligence capabilities alongside traditional data management functions.

The hardware centers on a processor built with an eight-nanometer process and includes an integrated neural processing unit. This chip combines four Cortex-A72 cores with four Cortex-A53 cores to handle general computing tasks. The system ships with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC flash storage for the operating environment.
Video capabilities include support for 8K video decoding at 30 frames per second and 4K encoding at 60 frames per second. Connectivity features a single HDMI 2.1 TMDS port, one 2.5GbE RJ45 network interface, and two USB ports offering 5Gbps speeds. The unit also provides SD and microSD card readers and supports JBOD, Basic, RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6, and RAID 10 configurations.
HIKSEMI lists the MAGE50X at 1495.12 CNY, which converts to approximately $219. The company has not yet confirmed specific availability windows or regional distribution details for this storage appliance.
